About Us

CalDisclosures was created by Pete Saxon, a licensed California Real Estate broker. Saxon began his real estate career in 1976 working as a real estate salesperson while he attended law school.

Over the years Saxon has worked as a salesperson, broker, office manager, general manager of a multi-office firm and has owned a national real estate franchise.

In the mid 1990's it became apparent to Mr. Saxon that the internet would be playing a larger role in every industry including the residential real estate business. He went back to school and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Information Systems at Palomar College in 2001.

Today, most people are using the internet for their home buying and selling research. Saxon believes that residential real estate consumers can and should become more knowledgeble and involved in the home buying/selling process. CalDisclosures is designed to provide consumers and professionals with the information, forms, booklets and resources necessary to transfer California residential real estate (1 - 4 units).

As of July 1, 2013 the California Department of Real Estate (DRE) has changed to the California Bureau of Real Estate (BRE). Any references on this webpage or in the included documentation to the DRE are intended to mean BRE.

All the information on this site and in the documentation is based directly on the California Association of REALTOS Sales Disclosure Chart and the California Bureau of Real Estate's Booklet Disclosures in Real Property Transaction (Sixth Edition) 2005. This booklet has been updated and the information on this site brought current as of December 2015. Everything on the site and in the documentation is available in the public domain.
